Magnolia Specialized Services, Inc

Providing opportunities for those with developmental delays and disabilities since 1968

Amalia Weiser Child Enrichment Center

Everyone knows the advantages of beginning services at an early age for people with disabilities. Here at CEC we serve children ages 3-5. Our goal is to get these children ready for public school kindergarten. Our program provides training and services to children and their families. Our program also offers Occupational, Physical, and Speech therapies.

Who We Are

The Child Enrichment Center (formerly known as Kids Express Preschool) is part of Magnolia Specialized Services, Inc., a non-profit organization serving children and adults with special needs in our area. The preschool program started in 1992 at the Faith Lutheran Church, and later moved to its current location at 1616 North Vine Street. An additional preschool building was completed in October of 2004 enabling the Child Enrichment Center to increase the number of children we serve. Our goal is to prepare children for public school kindergarten.

Who Qualifies

Our preschool program is for children ages 3-5 with developmental delays. Delays are determined by a series of developmental tests. In order to qualify, the child must exhibit delays in two or more of the following areas: cognitive, communication, fine motor, gross motor, social, and adaptive. There are no financial restrictions, and all services, including therapies, are provided at no cost to the family regardless of race, creed, religion, or national origin.

How To Get Started

We accept referrals from parents, primary care physicians, and local educational organizations. Once we take some basic referral information, we will schedule an appointment for developmental testing as well as testing for speech, occupational, and physical therapies, if needed. If your child qualifies, we will plan a day for him/her to begin school.
